ich habe noch ein wenig im Internet gesucht und nun läuft "Bullseye"

Das habe ich gemacht und nach dem reboot lief es.

@thomas-braun Hi, super Anleitung. Hat gut funktioniert. Nach dem Reboot war der Raspi allerdings nicht mehr im Netzwerk. Durch Ändern der Wait Einstellung in der Raspi-Config, auf No, war er dann wieder im Netzwerk und alles läuft.

1 System Options       Configure system settings
 S6 Network at Boot   Select wait for network connection on boot

Das Ändern der der Datei wait.conf, wie von einigen Usern beschrieben, hatte bei mir leider gar nichts gebracht.

Hallo,

heute wollte ich mich aicu endlich mal am Update versuchen.

Leider scheitert das

sudo apt install gcc-8-base

irgendwie.
Er bleibt immer an der selben Stelle stehen.

Buster erreicht in wenigen Wochen sein EndOfLife.

Die sed Befehle: Einfach buster durch bullseye ersetzen und umgekehrt.

Es gibt sog. 'rolling releases', auch Debian 'sid' wäre sowas ähnliches.
Die sind aber in der Pflege aufwändiger als Distributionen mit festen Releases.

Die Übergangsfrist von einem Jahr von Release zu Releases sind bei Debian aber eigentlich ausreichend groß, um da nicht auf den letzten Drücker (oder gar erst nach dem Ableben der Version) hektisch werden zu müssen.

Hast Du Dein Windows 95 auch durch Updates aktuell bis heute gehalten? ;)
Im Gegensatz zu Windows, ist Linux eh in einem Bruchteil der Zeit neu und ganz wichtig, sauber ohne Schnick Schnack frisch eingerichtet.

Dass es schnell geht, weiß ich.
Aber wenn man in der Linux Welt nicht zu Hause ist, geht einem sowas mal durch.

An sich halte ich das System aktuell. Aber bei den großen Abständen ab 1 Jahr hab ich das dann nicht immer im Kopf.
Bei Windows bekommt man es ja immer irgendwie mit.
Und seit Windows 7 bin ich auch ohne Neuinstallation bis Win 11 gekommen.

Gibt ja auch komplexere Installationen, als ein iobroker wo nur das Backup eingespielt werden muss.

Bei Linux kannst auch ein Versionssprung durch ein paar Befehle machen, aaaaaber meist schleppst so nur versteckte Probleme mit. Ich habs zu Beginn auch nicht neu aufgesetzt und früher oder später komische Probleme gehabt. Seit ich das neu mache und das geht eben sehr schnell, keine Probleme mehr.

Windows ist nicht kostenlos und da darf man auch etwas mehr erwarten was die Update Routine bei einem Versionswechsel angeht ;)
Dann bekommst hier doch schnell mit, wenn alle ein neues Linux drauf habe und Du noch nicht, dann solltest eben auch mal mit dem Upgrade anfangen.
Das ist alles reine Gewohnheit und die ändert sich je mehr man sich mit was befasst :)

Dann mache ich gleich mal ein Topic auf, wegen dem SQL Backup.
Vermutlich wird beim einspielen keine Datenbank etc angelegt.
Also sql installieren, Datenbank anlegen mit genau den selben Namen und PW und dann das Backup einspielen. Vermutlich ^^.

@david-g mit sql kenne ich mich nicht aus, jedoch ist es bei influxdb so, sobald in der Instanz die Daten eingegeben und diese gestartet wurde, die Datenbank automatisch angelegt wird.

ich bin auch faul.
ich mache "nur" alle 2 Jahre einen Rundumschlag auf meinen Systemen (Produktives Multihost mit 2 Slaves + im Moment nur ein Testsystem)

Dabei setze ich komplett neu auf, Erst neuestes Debian, dann mit dem Installer alles andere, auf den slaves werden alle Adapter gelöscht, anschließend per iobroker setup custom an den Master gekoppelt.
Nun das Backup restored, dabei wrrden auch die Instanzen auf den slaves hergestellt.

Dauert etwa 3 Stunden, dann ist der Spuk vorbei

Hallo @homoran und @Thomas-Braun
Das Setup von @Homoran hört sich ähnlich an wie mein Setup, wobei mein Testsystem (Pi3B) nur sporadisch mal verwendet wird (meist ausgeschaltet ist) und somit einen völlig anderen Stand hat als mein eigentlicher Master (Pi4 B), plus zwei Slaves (auch Pi4B).

Da ich das Bullseye Upgrade bisher auch ein wenig verschlafen habe, der Mensch hat ja auch schonmal andere Baustellen im Leben ;-) , habe ich mich gerade mal, mehr oder weniger, durch den ganzen Threat hier gehangelt.

Abgesehen vom Bullseye Upgrade sind allerdings alle 3 Systeme auf dem allerneuesten Stand, dank regelmäßiger Buster updates/upgrades inkl. node/npm, nach Anleitung hier von @Thomas-Braun. Auch alle Adapter ~40 (inkl. deConz, NUT, BLE mit HW hintendran), halte ich immer zeitnah auf Stand. Neben allabendlichem BackUps ziehe ich mir auch regelmäßig Clone (beim Master sogar mit 3 SDs im Ringtausch), weil ich da ganz am Anfang mal böse Erfahrungen mit gemacht hatte). Als Oberfläche nutze ich mittlerweile mehr als 15 VIS Pages und auf dem Tablet in der Küche läuft die VIS via Kiosk. Also alles mal so richtig schön ausgebaut ;-)

Zusammenfassend habe ich folgendes verstanden:

1. Die Anleitung von @Thomas-Braun ist nach wie vor gültig (erster Post in diesem Threat).
2. Es kann schonmal Probleme mit DHCP geben, was dann aber über die entsprechend Einstellung in der 'raspi-config' (ggf. lokal anmelden) in den Griff zu bekommen ist.
3. Es gibt Probleme mit der Debian GUI. Hier bin ich jetzt noch nicht so richtig schlau!? Ich nutze die GUI gerne und häufig, weil sie mir als Nicht-Profi-Raspian-Nutzer doch noch immer deutlich mehr Hilfestellung gibt als nur über eine Konsole zu arbeiten. Muss ich nun, wenn ich die GUI laufen habe und behalten möchte, tatsächlich eine komplette Neuinstallation machen oder geht das auch mit @Thomas-Braun Anleitung?
4. Ich gehe davon aus, dass es dabei egal ist, ob ich erst die Slaves Upgrade, oder? Weil die wären etwas unkomplizierter und ein vorübergehender Ausfall der Video-Überwachung ist nicht ganz so tragisch, wie ein Totalausfall des ganzen SmartHomes (inkl. deConz/ConBee II mit rd. 100 Devices hinten dran).
