@kusselin hatte das kürzlich auch bei einer VM gemacht, sourceslist anpassen aufs aktuelle Ubuntu und danach das full update, geht ohne Probleme

Das ist die /etc/apt/sources.listIn deinem Fall muss die so aussehen:
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ impish main restricted universe multiverse deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ impish-updates main restricted universe multiverse deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ impish-security main restricted universe multiverseWeitere .list-Dateien (finden sich in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ ) dann ggf. auch anpassen. Mindestens nach dem Upgrade auf den dann gültigen CODENAME (weiß gerade nicht bei welchem Viech die Ubuntus sind)

Ja, geht auch. Unter Umständen.
'do-release-upgrade' macht aber u. U. noch anderes als 'nur' die Quellen umstellen. Daher würde ich immer versuchen über diesen Weg zu gehen. -

ls -lA /etc/apt/sources.list.dweitere Dateien drin? Vermultich die nodesource.list.

o.k.die source list habe ich gefunden während du das hier geschrieben hast..
meine sieht jetzt so aus:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu impish main restricted universe multiverse deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu impish-updates main restricted universe multiverse deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu impish-security main restricted universe multiverseund die aändere ich komplett in:
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ impish main restricted universe multiverse deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ impish-updates main restricted universe multiverse deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ impish-security main restricted universe multiversedann speichern und udn apt-get update udn danach apt-get upgrade....richtig?

prüf mal. das könnte CANONICAL sein. ich kenne mich bei UBUNTU nicht aus
kein Support per PN! - Fragen im Forum stellen - es gibt fast nichts, was nicht auch für andere interessant ist.

Nein, das ist schon richtig mit 'impish'.
Der vorgesehene Upgrade-Vorgang über das 'do-release-upgrade'-Skript setzt die alte Versionsbezeichnung voraus.
Die wird im Zuge des Upgrades durch das Skript auf den jetzt aktuellen angepasst. -
