Hi zusammen.

Alles hat ein Ende, auch nun endgültig Debian Buster 10. Muss mich jetzt trotzdem mal hinsetzen, da ich das ja schon wirklich lange vorhatte. Aber läuft ja… :/

Muss ich denn beim Update auf irgendwas spezielles achten, außer dass ich erst über Bullseye (11) gehen muss?

Wenn ich das alles richtig verstehe, muss ich ja „nur zweimal“ etc/apt/sources.list anpassen und dann die Updates fahren oder?

Ich denke @Thomas-Braun wird sich dazu noch zu Wort melden, aber Du kannst gleich eine saubere Neuinstallation ins Auge fassen. Also nix einfach Update. Außerdem ist Bookworm praktisch auch schon wieder veraltet. Aktuell ist 13 (Trixie).

Hängt davon ab, auf welcher Hardware das läuft. Ich würde da aber Debian 13 'Trixie' so oder so komplett neuinstallieren. Wenn du warum auch immer da 3 Steine weiterspringen willst:

@thomas-braun ja im traurigen Ernst. 😅
Da kam Kind 1, dann Kind 2 und ich war froh das es vernünftig lief.

Aber jetzt muss ich wohl doch. Läuft aktuell auf einer Proxmox VM und war damals eine Clean Installation direkt vom Debian Image.

Denke dann ist es für mich die sauberere Lösung gleich ne neue VM zu erstellen, Trixie drauf zu installieren. iOBroker zu installieren, Backup aufzuspielen und somit das Ganze abzuschließen.

Glaub das Versionsspringen könnte zu Fehleranfälligkeit werden!?

Danke für den Tipp. Kommt am Ende wahrscheinlich sogar auf weniger Aufwand, weniger Ärger und die alte VM mit der jetzigen iOBroker Installation kann weiter laufen bis alles auf der neuen aktuellen wieder eingerichtet ist.

Wenn Du da schon neu aufsetzen musst: Warum eine VM und kein LXC?
Die sind deutlich schlanker, gehen sparsamer mit den Ressourcen um und starten schneller.

Da ist alles gut und aktuell bis auf NodeJs logischerweise. Da hab ich 20.16.0.

Sonst ist alles auf dem aktuellsten Stand. Den iOBroker selbst so wie die Umgebung hab ich auch ständig geupdated.

@codierknecht hatte mir mal die Geschichte mit VMs angewöhnt, weil sie in sich geschlossene Systeme sind und das durchreichen von USB Geräten um einiges einfacher geht.

The current Node.js version (v20.16.0) is vulnerable to the following CVEs:

CVE-2025-23083(high): With the aid of the diagnostics_channel utility, an event can be hooked into whenever a worker thread is created. This is not limited only to workers but also exposes internal workers, where an instance of them can be fetched, and its constructor can be grabbed and reinstated for malicious usage. 

This vulnerability affects Permission Model users (--permission) on Node.js v20, v22, and v23.

CVE-2025-23085(medium): A memory leak could occur when a remote peer abruptly closes the socket without sending a GOAWAY notification. Additionally, if an invalid header was detected by nghttp2, causing the connection to be terminated by the peer, the same leak was triggered. This flaw could lead to increased memory consumption and potential denial of service under certain conditions.

This vulnerability affects HTTP/2 Server users on Node.js v18.x, v20.x, v22.x and v23.x.

CVE-2025-23166(high):  The C++ method SignTraits::DeriveBits() may incorrectly call ThrowException() based on user-supplied inputs when executing in a background thread, crashing the Node.js process. Such cryptographic operations are commonly applied to untrusted inputs. Thus, this mechanism potentially allows an adversary to remotely crash a Node.js runtime.

CVE-2025-23167(medium): A flaw in Node.js 20's HTTP parser allows improper termination of HTTP/1 headers using `\r\n\rX` instead of the required `\r\n\r\n`.
This inconsistency enables request smuggling, allowing attackers to bypass proxy-based access controls and submit unauthorized requests.

The issue was resolved by upgrading `llhttp` to version 9, which enforces correct header termination.

Impact:

Alles gut. Lassen wir das nicht in eine Wortklauberei ausarten.
Ich weiß was zu tun ist und hab auch gelernt öfter mal das Betriebssystem zu checken und ggf hochzuziehen.
Da bin ich halt Apple verwöhnt… das sagt mir halt wenn es Zeit is zu updaten. Wenn man eben wenig mit Linux macht, kann sowas halt auch mal passieren.

Das ist die Freiheit von Linux (hier Debian). Das bevormundet dich nicht, weil du ja weißt was du wann zu tun hast.
Bei anderen Distributionen sagt die Kiste dir auch Bescheid, wenn der Support aus läuft, bzw. wenn ein neues Release verfügbar ist. Schnubbibuntu macht das soweit ich weiß auf den Desktop-Versionen.
Debian (und insbesondere im Serverbetrieb) geht davon aus, das der Administrator so sattelfest ist, das er die Supportzeiträume selber im Blick hat. Gibt ja nicht ohne Grund Übersichten dafür:
