Hi zusammen.
Alles hat ein Ende, auch nun endgültig Debian Buster 10. Muss mich jetzt trotzdem mal hinsetzen, da ich das ja schon wirklich lange vorhatte. Aber läuft ja… :/
Muss ich denn beim Update auf irgendwas spezielles achten, außer dass ich erst über Bullseye (11) gehen muss?
Wenn ich das alles richtig verstehe, muss ich ja „nur zweimal“ etc/apt/sources.list anpassen und dann die Updates fahren oder?

Da kam Kind 1, dann Kind 2 und ich war froh das es vernünftig lief.Aber jetzt muss ich wohl doch. Läuft aktuell auf einer Proxmox VM und war damals eine Clean Installation direkt vom Debian Image.
Denke dann ist es für mich die sauberere Lösung gleich ne neue VM zu erstellen, Trixie drauf zu installieren. iOBroker zu installieren, Backup aufzuspielen und somit das Ganze abzuschließen.
Glaub das Versionsspringen könnte zu Fehleranfälligkeit werden!?

iob fixDanke für den Tipp. Kommt am Ende wahrscheinlich sogar auf weniger Aufwand, weniger Ärger und die alte VM mit der jetzigen iOBroker Installation kann weiter laufen bis alles auf der neuen aktuellen wieder eingerichtet ist.

iob fixDa ist alles gut und aktuell bis auf NodeJs logischerweise. Da hab ich 20.16.0.
Sonst ist alles auf dem aktuellsten Stand. Den iOBroker selbst so wie die Umgebung hab ich auch ständig geupdated.

Da ist alles gut und aktuell bis auf NodeJs logischerweise. Da hab ich 20.16.0.
Sonst ist alles auf dem aktuellsten Stand. Den iOBroker selbst so wie die Umgebung hab ich auch ständig geupdated.

Mein ioBroker braucht keine USB-Geräte. Darum läuft der 1a als LXC. -

Dann ist das noch nicht gänzlich gestorben... QNAP hat da schon komplett auf LXD Container umgestellt, unterstützt allerdings noch laufende LXC Container

Aus diesem Grund ja hier auch die Frage wie am besten durchführen.Wenn ich jetzt jammern würde, würde ich deine Reaktion ja wohl verstehen… Aber ich wollte einfach nur wissen, was nach eurer Sicht die beste Vorgehensweise wäre…

Alles gut. Lassen wir das nicht in eine Wortklauberei ausarten.
Ich weiß was zu tun ist und hab auch gelernt öfter mal das Betriebssystem zu checken und ggf hochzuziehen.
Da bin ich halt Apple verwöhnt… das sagt mir halt wenn es Zeit is zu updaten. Wenn man eben wenig mit Linux macht, kann sowas halt auch mal passieren. -

Immer im Sommer eines ungeraden Jahres erscheint ein neues Release. Die abgelöste Version wird dann noch ein Jahr voll unterstützt. Und innerhalb dieser 12 Monate sollte man mal ein Stündchen finden für ein Upgrade auf die dann jeweils aktuelle 'stable'. Je zeitnaher das erfolgt desto besser sind die Aussichten auf ein erfolgreiches Dist-Upgrade.
Wenn du da zwei Versionen auslässt wird es halt komplizierter und aufwändiger und eine Neuinstallation ist schneller, sicherer und stabiler.Ob die Supportzeiträume (zu) kurz sind liegt im Auge des Betrachters. Denn eigentlich wird Debian ja immer vorgehalten, sich zu lange Zeit zu lassen. Drei Jahre voller Support sind in meinen Augen aber ein guter Kompromiss zwischen Aktualität und Stabilität.
