Jein. Immer 'ordentlich' und regelmäßig über die üblichen Quellen installieren/updaten und github und andere 'freihändige Installationen' vermeiden.

Das ließ sich nicht ausführen mit dem Hinweis iob fix vorab auszuführen.
Jetzt wo iob fix gegriffen hat und sich die Adapter updaten lassen bleibt der Fehler leider

Da läuft deine 'normale' Debian-Installation in den gleichen oder ganz ähnlichen 'Fehler' wie RaspberryOS.
Bei 'richtig normalen' Installationen funktioniert die Abfrage nämlich. ;-)

Die vermutlich strubbelige Installation ist auch noch drin:

Warum er die Version nicht erkennt ist mir schleierhaft. Die Installation wurde ursprünglich mit einer Debian Stretch ISO gestartet und jeweils auf das nächste Major bis Bookworm geupdatet. Komisch…

So eine Installations-Karawane kann sich irgendwann so seltsam verhalten. Ist das Paket 'distro-info' und 'distro-info-data' installiert?

Dann müsste iob diag da nun auch anderes ausspucken.
Vermutlich funktioniert nun auch die 'normale' Version direkt aus dem Terminal.

Wollte ich dir gerade schreiben. Bookworm wird im Lifecycle jetzt richtig erkannt und iob diag läuft erwartungsgemäß durch.
Mal schauen wie sich alles entwickelt. Ich werd mal als Alternative eine testweise Backup Rücksicherung auf eine cleane Installation durchspielen
