Hast du eigentlich schonmal deine Pi ... komplett neu gestartet und danach mal ein Backup versucht !?

mit ring und ble sind beide Verdächtigen an Bordkein Support per PN! - Fragen im Forum stellen - es gibt fast nichts, was nicht auch für andere interessant ist.

Ich würde schon mal den Desktop ausknipsen. Hier ist Kommandozeile angesagt.
Für mich als anfänger ist es einfacher um an die speicherorte und dateipfade zu kommen... das eigentliche Problem hat nichts mit dem Monitor zu tun.

Mit dem Monitor nicht. Aber vielleicht mit dem ganzen DesktopEnvironment das da mitrumpelt und das ganze komplexer, unsicherer und ressourcenhungriger macht.

Der 'Kompakt'-Modus. Da kann man beim Speicher ein paar MB einsparen. Hat aber soweit ich weiß an anderer Stelle wieder Stolperfallen, wenn der aktiv ist.
Bei mir ist der auch aus. -
