Moin,also ohne Deine Hardware genauer zu kennen würde ich mal schauen, erstens USB-Sticks sind schon ein Flaschenhals, dann evtl. auch an USB2 Port des ResPIs macht alles langsam, USB3 Port am ResPI macht nur Sinn, glaube ich, wenn vernünftig Strom vom Netzteil kommt oder, im Fall von einer SSD, über ein zweites Netzteil die SSD versorgt wird.
Ob Du ein Problem hast, sieht man nicht immer nur mit TOP oder so, da musst Du mal den IO der kleinen Kiste betrachten, schau mal obiostat
installiert ist oder ein ähnliches Tool zum Monitoren des IO, dann solltest Du erkennen können, ob Dein USB der Flaschenhals ist.
VIS ist glaube ich auch davon abhängig, welcher Client das macht, sprich wenn Tablet schwach, dann auch VIS langsam. Wenn aber der Admin langsam ist, dann ist das eher ein Problem mit Memory, denn wenn der geladen ist, dann sollte alles aus dem Memory laufen und keine Verzögerung haben.Zeig doch mal das lange Ergebnis von

noch mal, USB-Stick kann auch eine alte Krücke sein, ich würde nie, nie, niemals ein produktives System von USB-Stick oder SD-Karte laufen lassen, eine Ausnahme ist, wenn das, was da läuft, einmal in den Speicher geladen wurde und dann daraus läuft, und die SD-Karte dann nicht mehr gebraucht wird, wie z.B. Volumino, mein Musik-Server. Von USB-Stick lasse ich nur mal zum Test ein Linux-Live System booten, um zu schauen, wie sich eine Linux Distribution anfühlt, wenn mir das gefällt, dann installiere ich mir das auf eine Platte (SSD/HDD).

Genau wegen solcher Aussagen habe/hatte ich einige Testsysteme mit SD-Karte und massiver Nutzung von History (sic!) aufgesetzt und es in mehreren Jahren nicht geschafft auch nur eine einzige Karte zu schrotten.

Ich hätte sehr gerne ein rundes System aber empfand den pi immer als hinreichend.
Allerdings ist der 5W verbrauch bisher das Hauptargument gewesen auf dem PI zu bleiben.Der Stick war jetzt n Versuch und offenbar ist der gescheitert, also als nächstes eine SSD je nachdem was das hier ergibt.
Drücke ich die SDkarte rein und fixiere si mit ner Klammer geht es, Heißkleber hält halt auf dauer nicht und meine Lötskills sind echt nicht der Knaller ;-).
Und das löten war auch echt nervig, von daher hatte ich auf USB gehofft.Nils

Wenn Du Dir extra eine SSD kaufen musst, dann investiere lieber in ein neuen RasPI oder einen Mini PC, die hier schon oft vorgeschlagen wurden, denn wenn die schlechte Signalverarbeitung durch den defekten SD-Karten Slot kommt, dann wird es mit SSD auch nicht besser.

Bin ich gerade drüber gestolpert.Interessantes Gerät, bei Amazon ist es auch schon zu haben. Wobei 300 € schon deutlich mehr ist als ein Raspi mit 8 gb Ram. Für 200€ könnte ich schwach werden.
