Hallo zusammen,
ich habe hier ioBroker auf einem Rpi 4 mit 4GB laufen, den ich in den letzten Jahren galant ignoriert habe, da er immer zuverlässig lief und ich mit Job und Family immer mehr als ausgelastet war.
Ich würde gerne mal alles auf Stand bringen, da ich vor allem den Zigbee Adapter auf Stand bringen möchte.
Habe dies schon vor ein paar Monaten versucht, aber trotz Suche gescheitert. Bevor ich auf HA umsteige aus Verzweiflung möchte ich es doch nochmal versuchen.
Vielleicht hätte hier jemand Zeit. Oder gibt es ggf. eine Anleitung, wie man total veraltete Systeme wieder retten kann?

Kurze Zwischenfrage. ich möchte am liebsten auf einen NUC mit Proxmox umsteigen.
Liegt hier schon bereit.
Soll ich das alte System trotzdem updaten oder ein full backup machen und dem NUC einspielen?

@mr-x Ich würde ganz klar umziehen. Hatte vor knapp einen Jahr das gleiche gemacht und mich für einen Mini-PC von NipoGi (Amazon) mit proxmox entschieden. Backup vom alten System gemacht und ins neue eingespielt. Das einzig etwas schwierige dabei ist das durchschleifen der Zigbee Hardware gewesen, aber dafür gibt es auch recht gute Anleitungen. iobroker und PivCCU kannst du dann schön paralell unter proxmox in verschiedenen Container laufen lassen. Backup der Container mache ich jede Nacht auf ein NAS.

Bring die Kiste soweit auf Stand wie möglich und mach dann ein Backup. Installiere ein Debian 12 Bookworm frisch neu und spiel das Backup dann dort ein.

Diese Aussage hört (liest) man leider immer wieder, stellt sich nur die Frage wie glücklich man damit wird, wenn man bereits die Vorzüge von Blockly und Javascript kennt und nutzt. Ist ganz aktuell auch wieder ein bisschen Thema.

Die auch beide ihre Gültigkeit haben.
Wenn Dein System noch uralt ist, musst Du die Adapter erstmal so weit wie möglich auf Stand bringen.
Sonst kannst Du Dein Backup nicht in einem neuen ioBroker wiederherstellen.

Einen ioBroker unter Proxmox einzurichten ist denkbar einfach:

LXC Container mit dem Standard-Debian-12-Template erzeugen
ioBroker mit dem Einzeiler installieren
Backup wiederherstellen

Hier gebe ich dir eine 3. Option. Und die würde ich bei einem so grossen Wechsel empfehlen:

kein Backup auf Proxxmoxx einspielen
Proxxmoxx sauber aufsetzen, die Container / VM / LXC mit standard quellen Aufsetzen
den ioBroker neu via Konsole installieren und konfigurieren
successive die einzelnen Adapter mit deren Konfiguration umziehen. (manuell, durch Neuinstallation des Adapters und dann sauber konfigurieren) Dabei berûcksichtigen was du ggf. anders / besser neu aufsetzen willst.
Zur Not Datenpunkte via "export als JSON" und "import aus JSON" selektiv umziehen. (insbesondere bei denen unter Alias / Userdata
Skripte lassen sich auf ähnliche Art und Weise übernehmen

Warum so ? Dein ioBroker ist gewachsen. Da sind sicher einige Dinge drin die nicht ganz optimal sind. Solange bis du auf den neu aufgesetzten wechselst kannst du also alles Sauber zusammen bauen und den Alten trotzem weiter laufen lassen. Das Einspielen des Backups gibt die Illusion das es sofort läuft. Tut es aber nicht - die Konfiguration von verschiedenen Adaptern muss angefasst werden (andere Adressen, andere Gegenstellen, etc.)

Ich versuche es mit dem Einspielen eines aktuellen backups.
Falls es klappt erscheint es mir am schnellsten.

Verdrahtet macht es nicht unter einer VM sondern CT.
ist das immer noch empfehlenswert?
und dann mit Ubuntu oder Debian?

Ich würde für jede Anwendung (iobroker, PivCCU ) einen eigenen LXC nehmen. Gerade bei LXC Containern ist der Overhead im Vergleich zu Virtuellen Maschienen sehr gering, da keine Hardware emuliert werden muss. Das einzige was natürlich mehr verbraucht wird ist Speicherplatz, da jeder container seine eigene Umgebung mitbringt. Der ist aber auch verhältnismäßig klein, da handelt es sich nicht mal um nen Gigabyte pro Container.

ich habe mich vorgekämpft.
Proxmox und eine ioBroker darauf läuft.
Komme auf den Broker drauf und möchte ein Backup einspielen.
ich sehe hier aber keine Möglichkeit.

Leider nein, da es mir, wie eingangs erwähnt, mit allen Anleitungen der Welt nicht gelungen ist.
Deswegen habe ich jetzt unter CT eine iobroker instanz laufen.
habe vom Grundsystem in Proxmox ein Backup erstellt.
Aber so wie es aussieht, reagiert ioBroker nach dem Einspielen des Backups nicht (wie von manchen erwartet).

Somit bleibt mir wohl nichts anderes übrig, als hier erneut um Hilfe mit dem Upgrade meines Systems zu helfen.....

Eine vollständige Aktualisierung aller Komponenten auf die neuesten Versionen wird natürlich nicht möglich sein.

Die Frage war aber ob du alles soweit möglich aktualisiert hast.

nodejs und npm scheinen OK zu sein. aber ich konnte nie den js.controller updaten.

Das ist alles total veraltet. Natürlich kann man irgendwann nicht mehr updaten, wenn die Versionen im Upstream dir weglaufen.
