@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
am I right
Reinstall OS on the new one
install iobroker with yout commandAnd after? restore from the backup made?
YES!!
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
history is just for temperature... not big issue even if I lost it.
even though, save the folder /opt/iobroker/iobroker-data/history and simply copy it back on the new install.
other questions answered by Thomas. You won't get other answers by me
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
Stupid question... how can I save my backup file from iobroker
There are no stupid questions at all - just stupid answers!
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
Can I do it from my PC windows?
use filezilla, but log in as the same user u will use later on. it should be pi
-
@thomas-braun
ok I will try... perhaps too hard for my actual knowledge...I'll comeback when new sdcard will be operating, and when I will have made the command you asked to install.
What I'm going to do...
- Copy the iobroker backup on USB key
- restore from image disk to have access to my domotics
- on new SDcard, install the last Raspberry OSbit without desktop
- install iobroker
and come back to have your support.
Many thanks to both of you for your help and time

Filezilla is to send the iobroker backup if I'm right
sorry to much information for me today lol

no, I'm sure!
but if you insist, we will brush up your skills.please ask!
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:

that's another possibility - ok
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:

don't know about this stuff.
but if you still "play back" an image/mirrored disk, you also play back all faulty stuff.
This wouldn't be a good idea@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:

we will wait for you!

so what is the answer?
@homoran sagte in Update System iobroker failed:

filezilla is a file transfer programm using sftp

This wouldn't be a good ideaOf course there is fault, but it's the image of my sdcard when everything was working and all adapters was working too.
With this image, I will be able to have all instances and adapters installed if needed for youIf i install everything new on a new Sdcard after... I don't see the problem.
The only things that I've not in this imagedisk is the backup of iobroker from this morning, that's why I want to have it
-
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
when everything was working and all adapters was working too.
but also with very very old versions, which may not be able to be updated as we have seen today, or am I wrong?
And you can not play back that image and install the latest OS. this will be overwritten
-
@homoran
I agree, I'll made a new SD Card.
With all new...
Just hopped that the backup of IOBROKER will avoid me to reprogram everything. But in this way, I'll always have a version of SD Card with something working untill I've finished the new and correct one
version of OS without desktop... will I have internet navigator on it? will it be started from cmd as we made since the beginning?
-
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
But in this way, I'll always have a version of SD Card with something working untill I've finished the new and correct one
that was the plan! a kind of hardware backup
will I have internet navigator on it?
what for?
a server is maintained by console -
@homoran said in Update System iobroker failed:
what for?
a server is maintained by consoleAs I don't know the navigation by console
that why I thing it should be better for me with desktop instead of your proposal. if not, even to upload log file it will be difficult... today I had just to drag and drop the file... one step by one step
Today was a good day as I'm on holiday, but after will be more difficult
Anyway, with or without desktop, we'll achieve a good installation thanks to your help.
once I'll have found back my old trouble version but working... I'll give you the instance and adapter installed
Many thanks
-
It's easier to maintain a server without a desktop.
-
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
As I don't know the navigation by console
not now! but you will do!
there is just a little you have to do by cmd.
(concerning iob!)
I don't know what the other applications need -
to finish, after a big stress as I had an error from win32diskimage when writting the old files... but was ok the second time...
All is working as before...So I've listed instances and adapters (some don't need and was installed for test)
Really need should be at least :- Node-Red
- Alexa
- S7
- history
- Rfxcom
- Zigbee
- Vis
- script is also used
result for the both list
please stay sit down before reading the version of all my adapters

@homoran
Hello,
so, I bought the Sdcard, installed OS Lite...
Connect to my wifi and installed iobroker. Now I have access to iobroker from my web browser on my PC.
One question, If I understood well, it is possible to connect to the Raspberry pi with computer and made all modification and command from the PC and not directly on the Raspberry Pi correct?
As finally the Raspberry will not be connected to a Screen and keyboard...But I didn't yet search to do it, one step...
So now, what is the next step to restore the backup ?
Actually the backup is saved on my computer.
And in the webpage of iobroker it's written "WELCOME" and wanted to start the assistant. Thanks in advance

wonderful! ...but...
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
Connect to my wifi
why wifi? wired is more stable. No one recommends wifi for a server.

correct!
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
But I didn't yet search to do it, one step...
get yourself a ssh client. i prefer puTTY, but you also can use powershell.
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
Actually the backup is saved on my computer.
therefore you'll need a filetransfer program as filezilla.
If you login to your raspi you should use the credentials of your user you installed iobroker withcaution.
if you know what to do don't use the discovery. just follow the initisl steps and if you choose using credentials, write them down! -
why wifi? wired is more stable. No one recommends wifi for a server.
Juste because The place where it will be has no wired connexionget yourself a ssh client. i prefer puTTY, but you also can use powershell.
i'm going to saerch with the SSH as I saw it directly on raspberrytherefore you'll need a filetransfer program as filezilla.
If you login to your raspi you should use the credentials of your user you installed iobroker withThis is the biggest point... where You lost me...
instead of filezilla, can I put on USB key? more easy for me I think.caution.
if you know what to do don't use the discovery. just follow the initisl steps and if you choose using credentials, write them down! Are you speaking chinese?
follow the intialization steps... Supposed you are speaking about the assistant shown in the web browser with iobroker.what I didn't understood (perhaps you didn't mentionned presently) is once initialization step will be done, how I will use the restore...
in my idea, is from USB key, and I supposed that qitch the command we will restore and used the file on the usb keydon't forget I was a newbee on System installation and upgrade, but already a very big newbee to work only with command
-
Juste one more point...
Can I change the password of my Raspberry? I let the "pi" username, but if I activate the SSH... It should be better to have another password. Thanks

but not for me
surely you can do. But I don't know about mount and so.
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
Are you speaking chinese?
no! it's suaheli!
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
Supposed you are speaking about the assistant shown in the web browser with iobroker.
Yes!
but after the initial settings, there you will be asked to start an automated device search. (this is the discovery adapter)
I think you don't need it. Maybe it will bring more confusion than benefits.@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:
how I will use the restore...
using the cli with
iobroker restore filenameOfBackup
you first have to copy the backup into /opt/iobroker/backups. after a clean install you have to create this folderthen you can call the restore command with the appropriate filename
@tiger sagte in Update System iobroker failed:

you should!
at bootup the pi will tell you that not changing it is a security issue! -
ok, SSD : Done
Connexion from distant PC : Done
Password change : Donebut not for me
surely you can do. But I don't know about mount and so.
No you're a specialist If I understood weel, I have juste to copy the file from my USB key to the folder you mentionned...
If it's correct, I will search how to copy itSearching is easy for me... finding... it's different
