      Hi

      New to iobroker!

If i wish to remove objects. Is there any way to simply restore them or make iobroker poll them again after removal?

      Kind regards
      Kevin

        Please provide some more information:

        • what kind of objects are we talking about
        • which adapter is controlling / generating / is involved with them ?
        • why do. you want to remove objects ?

        A.

          Hi

Actually its not for a specific adapter, more of a general question. I have a Raspberry Pi, Loxone, influbDB adapter running. I would think to conserve cpu/memory,... that it would benefit of not polling/pulling all the metrics that come out of the box and which i do not need/use. I just want to be sure before i remove them that if i would ever need them i can "restore" them or what if i would delete one by accident.

          Kind regards
          Kevin

@kverreth I am afraid that you are working off a misconception:

Any object present in the iobroker object database is owned and controlled either by the user (you), an adapter or the JSController itself. As such, these objects will automatically be recreated by the controlling adapter if they are required. Deleting objects without addressing the adapters which created them and the situation they were created may lead to unexpected results (up to and including random adapter or JS controller crashes).

The only objects which do not follow this rule are objects you created yourself.

if no-one is managing an object, no metrics are generated for said objects and the object is not polled either, so deleting the objects will only affect the database size.

            A.
