Stell halt temporär auf 'latest' um und dann installierst du nur den 'i2c' daraus. Keine anderen Updates!!
Und danach wieder auf 'default' stellen.

warum fragst du und schaffst schon vor der Antwort falsche Tatsachen?

in der von mir verlinkten Doku steht wie man die Verwahrungsorte umschaltet
da wird nichts gelöscht!

nix gelöscht, alles Original, auf latest umgestellt
aber er findet den i2c nicht

hat wieder nicht funktioniert, mit genau dem selben Fehler....

Im Ernst. Wenn du ein stabiles System haben willst und nicht dauernd basteln musst, solltest du keine bleeding edge Versionen nehmen.

Ohne die (most pressing) Issues zu kennen, von denen UncleSam schreibt, gehe davon aus, dass dieser Adapter im Moment noch nicht produktiv zu nutzen ist.

Das Warten ist vorbei :-)
Ab heute ist die Version 1.1.0 des Adapters zum Testen freigegeben und sollte (mit einer aktuellen NodeJS Version) auch problemlos funktionieren. Ich freue mich über Feedback in jenem Thema.
