Innerhalb einer Major-Version macht man das auch nicht über iob nodejs-update sondern über den Paketmanager deines Systems.

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade

liefert?

Edit: Ich sehe gerade, da war zuvor die Quelle von nodesource gar nicht angelegt. Vermutlich hattest/hast du da die dfsg-Version am Wickel (oder eine am Paketmanager vorbei gezirkelte Installation).

nach der konkreten Situation.
