Anzahl der E-Mails abfragen

Hallo,
Ich bin verzweifelt auf der Suche nach ein Skript, welches mir sagt, dass ich xyz Mails habe auf dem Server!
Was ich immer finde, ist das Senden von Mails, aber nichts, was mir sagt, dass ich zB. 10 Mails habe, die abgerufen werden können..Weis jemand eine Möglichkeit?
Dank schon mal für jede Hilfe die mich ans ziel bringt
